All members of the news media requesting interview and/or on-site filming access at Newport Aquarium must contact our Public Relations department in advance of their arrival. Members of the news media must be escorted by an Newport Aquarium team member at all times while on property.
Tripods can be accommodated in some areas of the Aquarium with advance permission. For the health and well-being of our animals, flash and heavy lighting are not allowed in certain areas of the aquarium. Please discuss your lighting and flash needs with our Public Relations department before your visit.
Working members of the news media with positions as on-air talent, producers, writers or editors may request up to two complimentary tickets to experience Newport Aquarium as a guest. Please submit your requests by completing this form at least five working days in advance of your visit. Due to limited capacities, we cannot guarantee complimentary tickets. You will receive a confirmation email if we are able to fulfill your request. On your date of visit, please bring media credentials.

Newport, KY (November 15, 2022) The most wonderful time of the year approaches at Newport Aquarium as Scuba Santa swims back into town soon! This is the 20th Anniversary for the one-of-a-kind holiday tradition which runs from November 25 through December 24. With festive music, magical bubbles, cheery elves and three new sand tiger sharks to swim with, Scuba Santa is making his 20th year underwater one to remember!

Newport, KY (November 2, 2022) Newport Aquarium is now home to three new sand tiger sharks! Visitors and staff are excited to welcome their new finned friends, two males and one female, as they show off their nearly seven-foot-long frames and wide, toothy grins in the Surrounded by Sharks Exhibit.
The aquarium also announced a limited-time offer where annual pass purchasers get two additional months free, meaning 14 months to visit with the new sharks instead of the normal 12.

Visitors slow down to discover hidden clues and fascinating animals.
Newport Aquarium is kicking off the fall season with its Underwater Scavenger Hunt Around the World, presented by Skyline Chili. Starting this weekend, visitors are invited to slow down and discover the sometimes-overlooked animals as they search for hidden globes throughout the aquarium’s exhibits. Those who find all the clues will discover a hidden phrase that can be used to enter for a chance to win four Newport Aquarium Annual Passes and a $100 Skyline gift card.
