NEW Octopuses and NEW Habitats!

Meet the Giant Pacific Octopus exploring its giant NEW home in the Octopus Den, with floor to ceiling views of its color changing, shape shifting adventures. And, meet a rotating collection of fascinating octopuses with different colors, markings and behaviors. Right now, you’ll meet the NEW Wunderpus, a creature that mimics venomous fish and sea snakes as part of its defense.

Explore Deep Sea Hydrothermal Vents

Dive deeper into the Ring of Fire to discover hydrothermal vents, towering structures that form where molten lava meets near-freezing sea water. Discover the life that thrives in this extreme environment including strange crabs, anemones, fish and giant isopods - all in a NEW bubbling and glowing 360-degree display!

Meet Strange Creatures from Puget Sound

Discover some of the unusual residents of Puget Sound, like the Mosshead Warbonnet with its long body and head topped in an intricate camouflage and lure that draws prey close. Nearby the Penpoint Gunnel lurks, an eel-like fish that mimics the colors of its surroundings and can even breath air. Plus, many more crustaceans, anemones and fish to find.

Who You Callin’ Shrimp?

Come eye-to-eye with the NEW Peacock Mantis Shrimp. This fascinating crustacean has an iridescent body with a rainbow of colors, similar to a peacock’s tail. But don’t be fooled. This little guy packs a punch, literally. They have the fastest punch in the world, moving at the speed of a bullet, which they use to break the shells of the animals that they hunt. He’s part of a rotating collection of exceptional animals, giving you something new to discover with each visit.

The Ring of Fire is home to 90% of the world’s earthquakes and is in a constant state of change. But don’t stress. Relax with the gentle flutter of Moon Jellies as they float gracefully without a care. The giant display will have you mesmerized as they swirl and feed with their long trailing tentacles.
