Discover the Wonder of an underwater world and see thousands of the world's most exotic aquatic animals.

Scouts can touch stingrays, sharks, crabs and other creatures and learn how they can make a difference in conservation efforts. Wonders of Water

It's Your Planet - Love It!

Newport Aquarium is now offering Brownies an opportunity to earn their first Leadership Award - LOVE Water - for their Wonders of Water badge set.

This Behind-The-Scenes Learning Experience will focus on Newport Aquarium's water filtration systems. Each Scout will be challenged to share two things she knows and loves about water. It will conclude with the group making a personal promise to commit to protect water habitats, climates and creatures, plus a presentation of the certificates of completion.

Wonders of Water Program: $42.99 per person

(Annual Passholder rate: $26.00)

  • General Admission to explore Newport Aquarium
  • Private Penguin Encounter (20 minutes)
  • Behind the Scenes Learning Experience (45 minutes)
  • Certificate of Completion for LOVE Water award

Pre-registration is required as least 30 days in advance and must be for a minimum of 15 people. Program is available year round and is subject to availability. Price is the same for scouts and accompanying adults. At least one adult required per troop

Newport Aquarium 20th Anniversary PatchDuring Scouts Honor Weekend, Newport Aquarium admission is only $13.99 per person* for all Scouts, their families and friends.

Get the whole troop together and enjoy the day exploring tanks filled with exotic sea life from around the world. All Scouts receive a special patch when they arrive.

Girl Scout Badge Program

Back For 2019!

Badge Program Includes Aquarium Admission - $23.99 Per Scout

During Scouts Honor Weekend, Girl Scouts have the opportunity to participate in an activity to earn a badge.

 
daisy badge
10:00am: Daisies
Daisies earn a Clover Petal certificate of completion. Petals will not be provided by Newport Aquarium.
 
 
brownie badge
12:00pm: Brownies
Brownies earn their Bug Badge. Badge will be provided by Newport Aquarium at the completion of the activity.
 
 
junior badge
2:00pm: Juniors
Juniors earn their Animal Habitat Badge. Badge will be provided by Newport Aquarium at the completion of the activity
 

Pre-registration is required to participate in the Badge Program and scouts must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Chaperones need to purchase a $13.99 admission ticket to attend.

Tickets for the badge program must be purchased in advance online. Space is limited as sessions will sell out.

Badge Program for Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Scouts

Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Scouts will have the opportunity to complete steps towards various badges during Scouts Honor Weekend.

Self-guided worksheets will be provided to allow scouts to explore the aquarium and observe at their own pace, all while completing specific steps towards their badge completion *.

Behind The Scenes Experience

Step behind the scenes to see how our professionals and volunteers care for thousand of marine animals and a million gallons of salt and fresh water. This experience will allow you to see the Shark Tank, Coral Reef Tank and Amazon River Tank from the top down and each tour will include a hands-on meeting with one of the animals from our public education collection.

Backstage Animal Experience

Penguin Encounter

You are invited inside The Penguin House, the backstage home of our African penguins. During this exclusive 20-minute encounter, you will talk with one of our Animal Experience Specialists who handle these adorable birds. Watch up close as the penguins waddle, wiggle and shake their tails. You get to take pictures of the penguins and maybe even touch one.
