Featured New Additions

Roughtail Stingray

The new Roughtail Stingray is settling in nicely in the Surrounded By Sharks exhibit! Roughtail Stingrays are the largest whip-tail species in the Atlantic, with tails over twice their body length. This one already weighs 180 pounds, spans 5 feet across, and measures more than 9 feet long—and it’s still growing!

Zebra Sharks

Two new Zebra Sharks have joined the Surrounded By Sharks exhibit! Born with stripes that fade into spots as they age, these golden, slender-tailed sharks are easy to spot from Shark Ray Bay Theater, the Surrounded By Sharks Tunnel, and Shark Bridge. Come say hello to their friendly faces!

Shan the Sharkray

Meet Shan the Shark Ray, the newest resident of the Surrounded by Sharks exhibit! Shan was born in 2022 in Taiwan and named after one of her caretakers. Still a juvenile, she is smaller than the others for now but will continue to grow and eventually join the Shark Ray Breeding program. You can spot her from Shark Ray Bay Theater, the Surrounded by Sharks Tunnel, or Shark Bridge.

Axolotls

Everyone’s favorite amphibians, Axolotls, are here! These amazing salamanders can regrow limbs and organs and breathe with both gills and lungs. Fans love their feathery external gills and smiling faces. Catch these cuties in Gator Alley on your next visit!

Yellow Boxfish

Yellow Boxfish are easy to spot thanks to their boxy, armor-like bodies made of rigid bony plates. When threatened, they can inflate and release a toxin to protect themselves. You can see these unique fish now in the Shore Gallery.
