Inspire STEM interests with an immersive Field Trip to the Newport Aquarium! Your students will discover the wonder of an underwater world and SEA thousands of the world’s most exotic aquatic animals. They’ll experience hands on learning as they TOUCH stingrays, sharks, crabs and other creatures and learn how their actions can contribute to conservation efforts. Plus, EXPLORING underwater tunnels, getting eye-to-eye with penguins and a rare white alligator and sharing thrilling adventures like walking inches above a tank full of sharks on the first-in-the-world Shark Bridge will connect them to learning in the real world.
All exhibits plus Shark Bridge are included with a Homeschool Group Admission Ticket. A minimum of 10 tickets is required to receive Homeschool rates. Receive 1 complimentary adult admission per every 10 student admissions. Homeschool rates are not available in June or July. All School Field Trips are self-guided and must be booked two weeks in advance.

Add a once-in-a-lifetime up-close experience with one of our African Penguin ambassadors! This interactive presentation is provided by an Animal Program Specialist who cares for these adorable birds. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, take pictures, touch penguin artifacts and learn all about these endangered animals. This 45-minute experience takes place in the WAVE Foundation’s NEW classroom space and can accommodate up to 90 students.

A: To qualify for group rates, you must pre-register in advance on our group’s webpage and be purchasing at least 10 or more tickets.
A: Newport Aquarium does not own their own parking lot. Our partnership with Tri-State Parking allows buses to park in their lot near 301 Riverboat Row, Newport, KY 41071.
A: Bus parking is $20 in the parking lot; school groups may request a parking pass prior to arrival. Groups travelling by car will park in the Newport on The Levee parking garage which is $6 for the first four hours. Rates are subject to change. Holiday and festival rates may apply at the discretion of Newport on the Levee.
A: Bus drop off is located on E Third St. in front of the AMC Building.
A: Yes, there are elevators inside the parking garage and AMC building that will take you to the plaza level.
A: We are located on the west end of Newport on The Levee on the plaza level.
A: The group leader will check in with their reservation # at the guest services window at the front of the aquarium.
A: Payment is due 2 weeks in advance, acceptable forms of payment are credit cards, checks or purchase orders.
A: Yes, members can use their annual pass to get into the aquarium. They must have their membership card with them upon arrival to scan in. They do not need to be included in your guest count but please let group sales know.
A: We strongly encourage a 10:1 ratio of children to adults. For every 10 child/student tickets purchased, 1 adult can enter for free when reserved in advance.
A: Yes, our entire facility is wheelchair accessible except for Shark Bridge.
A: Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours in advance at no penalty. Cancellations under a 48-hours’ notice will be subject to a 50% charge of the total reservation. No shows will be subject to a 100% charge for the total reservation. Cancellations due to inclement weather or emergency school closings will go without penalty, please let group sales know as soon as possible at 859-815-1478.
A: The Aquarium does not allow any outside food or drink to be consumed inside. Lunches can be ordered in advance with group sales.
A: Groups can rent our Riverside Room for $100 with a reserved 2-hour time slot. Groups can also eat outside free of charge at our picnic tables on a first-come, first-serve basis. come first serve.
A: Yes, we have 4 AEDs on site.
A: Yes, we have several trained staff members for CPR, AED and first aid. We also have a detail officer on site from open to close. Any member of the NAQ staff can properly communicate the need for aid at any given location. Typically, hosts call for aid before the guest has communicated a need for aid. All Guest Services Leads and above are first responder, first aid, AED, CPR, and BBP trained. To request aid, you will find the nearest staff member.
A: Your tickets are valid for the duration of your visit.
A: Most groups spend about an hour and half to two hours inside the aquarium.
A: To receive the education rate, the lead teacher must pay for the entire group, including additional adults in ONE transaction.
