Jim Henson’s Splash and Bubbles Reeftown Adventure Opening at Newport Aquarium in January
February 29, 2016
NEWPORT, Ky. - Today, Newport Aquarium announced a strategic partnership with local Public Broadcast Service television stations CET in Cincinnati and ThinkTV in Dayton. Effective today, on Leap Day, CET is now the exclusive sponsor of the Frog Bog exhibit. Frog Bog is the largest exhibit of its kind in the Midwest, with nearly 20 species of exotic frogs from around the world. Newport Aquarium is an official CET Kids Club Partner.
“We are pleased to partner with Newport Aquarium as sponsors of the Frog Bog. We leaped at the opportunity,” said David Fogarty, President of CET and ThinkTV. “Newport Aquarium is committed to a great learning and fun experience for families and children, and public television recognizes that engaging children and learners of all ages is really at the heart of education.”
The partnership allows CET, ThinkTV and Newport Aquarium to further their missions by engaging families in the community with educational enrichment that’s both inspiring and fun.
"Just like families are inspired when they watch quality television programming on PBS, Newport Aquarium gives them a new way to see, touch and explore the aquatic world around them, right in their own community,” said Eric Rose, Newport Aquarium’s Executive Director. “It’s a natural partnership and will provide us both with new ways to connect with our community,” he said.
About Frog Bog
Kids have never seen frogs like this before. Frog Bog is the largest exhibit of its kind in the Midwest, with nearly 20 species of exotic frogs from around the world. It’s filled with tons of hands-on fun. Kids will see secret frog tanks visible only when they climb through tunnels and tubes in our kids-only Frog Bog jungle gym. Interactive displays explain about the environmental issues that frogs face. Play “Frogger” by jumping on frog pads, and tap 3-foot-tall frog statues to make them “sing.”
