Turtle Canyon - Where Turtles Come To Play

Turtle Canyon features 14 species of turtles.
Turtle Canyon features a diverse collection of more than 14 species of turtles, spanning three continents. From the largest tortoise species in the world, the Galapagos tortoise, to the smallest tortoise species in the Northern Hemisphere, the Egyptian tortoise, Turtle Canyon showcases turtles of all shapes and sizes.

Two massive turtles anchor the exhibits inside Turtle Canyon, allowing Newport Aquarium to highlight three of the largest turtle species in the world: Bravo the Galapagos Tortoise, Thunder the Alligator Snapping Turtle and Denver the Loggerhead Sea Turtle.

Turtles you can actually touch!
Guests have the unique opportunity to touch a variety turtles in the Turtle Corral area using the 2-finger touch technique. Touching each turtle on the shell, guests will not only see what makes each turtle special – they can feel it! The Turtle Corral is open every day 1 hour after the Aquarium opens through the end of the day.
